I was supposed to type in this write-up last night, but I was busy looking for this particular song that touched my heart to pain and eyes to tears during my church service. Somehow, I just couldn't find it. And my attempt to open this blogspot entry to see whether the person did cut and paste the lyrics into his/her blog was futile as my internet explorer kept shutting down. Hm, spooky? Well, maybe just that I'm not supposed to paste the song here. Anyway, it's this song that says about Jesus' Body broken for us, and His Blood poured out for us. It was really touching, coupled with flashback of the movie Passion. Well, it's powerfully moving. Bless Mel Gibson's soul for having the revelation to create this show. Now many people will have seen what Jesus had to go through during His Crucifixion. We always read about it in the Bible, but pictures really speak a thousand words more.

Throughout the weekend, starting from Good Friday, I came to value Jesus' sacrifice more. We had a short movie screening at Jhee's house after Good Friday dinner, and it was based on the Book of Matthew. Jhee explained that Matthew viewed Jesus as the Son of Man, and his emphasis was more of the blood of an innocent man being shed on the Cross. Many instances illustrate that: Judas returning the thirty silver coins after he realised Jesus would be condemned to death; Pilate washing his hands off the crucifixion business; the criminal hanging next to Jesus proclaiming Him as being guilty of no crime. This was protrayed in the Passion, too. So, much was to be revered of Our Heavenly Prince, of His innocent blood being shed for us. He who knew no sin yet bore our sins so that we may be saved.

That was Friday. Then came Saturday. The full weight of what Jesus went through came upon me. Through that song, I finally came to understand what it meant that His Body was broken for us, how it felt to have His blood poured out for us. Remember me, that was His simple request for the great deed that He has done for us. And it was true, from the first time I saw the movie, I felt that I was one of those Roman soldiers who flogged Jesus, who scourge Him, who held the nails and hammered it into His Hands and Feet. So when Ps Khong said that Mel Gibson specifically wanted to have the role of putting the nails through Jesus' Hands, I understood what he must have felt while he made the show. It was for our iniquity that Jesus was put on the Cross.

I felt somewhat frustrated when my prayers go unanswered, or that God didn't act on it. Then again, who am i to tell God what He is or is not sposed to do, right? Sigh! Anyway, this song came to mind as i was thinking bout this:

Your Grace is sufficient for me,
Your strength is made perfect when I am weak,
All that I cling to, I lay at Your feet,
Your Grace is sufficient for me...

Yea, indeed God's grace is sufficient. Just have to look to Him for His grace and strength to pull you through the tough and difficult times. LORD!!! More of Your Grace and Strength, please!!!

God's grace and strength be with you

My life for Christ

Yes, this blog is alive again! Finally, I decided that a sermon preached without any life examples in it, well, those sermons are just dead. That's why my pastors' sermons are so powerful; they share their life stories in them! SO that's just what I'm going to do. Enjoy reading and may the Word speak to you as well! ;)
